Success Takes Time+

Success 1Success takes longer than you may think.

Big visions and goals for your life?

If you want to achieve success, be prepared to be in it for the long haul.

It is probably going to take you a lot longer than you estimated to reach those goals.

It all comes down to human nature.

Having a good idea that captures your imagination and that you feel passionate about – daydreaming about all the possibilities the future may bring and brainstorming new ways to reach those lofty goals is just the beginning.

The honeymoon phase

This honeymoon phase is exciting and invigorating.

You feel as if you can take on the entire world!

But reality soon sets in and you will begin to realize the mountain of work that lies ahead. And there is only one way to climb a mountain – one step at a time.

From a distance, that mountain may not seem that big. But you can’t see the real scale, the gradient, terrain, and obstacles that are going to present challenges until you get closer.

A quick sprint to the starting point only reveals the marathon that lies ahead.

The struggles and difficulties that you will need to face soon become apparent and you realize just how much hard work, perseverance, and stamina it is going to take to reach the summit.

The Reality

The reality is that MOST people simply do not have what it takes to be fully invested in the journey to success and don’t make it far from the base of the mountain. They quit before the risk to their investment becomes too great. Quitting is much easier than entirely losing an investment.

But if that goal is something that you are incredibly passionate about and you have enough reasons to keep you motivated, then you can start planning the first stage of your journey to success –

You need to put in sufficient time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears so that turning back or quitting is far more painful than continuing.

The Point of No Return

When you reach the point of no return, you will gain an entirely new perspective on your journey.

The challenges don’t disappear but take on a whole new meaning. Your struggles along the way give you the knowledge and experience to face what lies ahead with a calm sensible head.

You now know that you will reach your goal – it’s just a matter of how long it will take to get there. And even this doesn’t seem to matter anymore. You are far more focused on the journey than reaching the summit as quickly as possible.

The mountain metaphor is easy to understand and can be applied to just about any aspect of your life. Allow yourself to dream big and set those major goals and have great visions for your future.

Then, be sure that you have what it takes to reach that critical point of no return.

Always remember that even though the journey may take longer than you think, success is achievable.

To your success,
