Many people prefer to live in the future. Why is that?

When people find that their future does not match up to their present, they would rather live in the future. This may not be such a bad thing because, as The Law of Attraction states – ‘that which you give your attention to will manifest in your life.’ However, living your whole life in the future means that the present is passing you by.

Here are some ways to help you live in the now and have a happy life without too much stress.

1. Don’t Think About It.

The goal is to stop thinking about everything all the time. The best way around this is to write down all the things you need to do that pop in and out of your mind continually. This may include an upcoming exam or a visit to a family member in a couple of weeks’ time. Now cross off all the things that you feel good about doing. An example may be the memory of the first kiss with your lover that you like to be reminded of.
Now you will be left with a list of all the things you think about all the time that make you feel bad. These are the things you want to stop thinking about. One way to do this is to make a pact with yourself to do something ridiculous each time your mind wanders off to one of the bad things on your list. This can be something as simple as shaking your head from side to side rapidly or even doing a few push-ups to get your mind off the subject.

Warning: Be reasonable with these actions and always try to forget these thoughts each time they come up again.

2. Do Exercises Like Yoga.

Doing daily exercises will not only help you get in shape, but it is also very effective at keeping your mind occupied with positive things and stopping it from wandering off into negativity. Yoga is particularly good as it includes meditation to relax the mind and the body. Don’t fall into the trap of telling yourself that you can’t exercise until you have finished a task as that is exactly the type of thought you want to avoid.

3. Avoid a Daily Routine.

We all like to plan our days in order to avoid any surprises. However, there is nothing wrong with bringing some variation into your day or making certain on-the-fly decisions. Examples could include giving the collector in front of the grocery store a dollar impulse or smiling expansively when you randomly see a beautiful tree or a new store opening. These are resources that you will stand you in good stead for a very long time. For example, you will be able to visit the new store often and the tree will always be there to offer you pleasure and extra oxygen.

4. Your Past and Future is a Reflection of Your Present.

The most important thing is to feel good by doing something good in the present moment. In this way, you can create future health and wealth and great memories will bloom that can be used in the future. Bearing all this in mind it is only natural to do and feel your best in the present as it creates a good future. Really enjoy what you are doing in the present, whether it’s watching television or writing in your journal. The only thing you should worry about is finding lots of good things to do during your day.

5. If you don’t like the Present – Change it.

We all know that the past can’t be changed, but you can change your future. and that is very important. If you are not happy with your life at present, you have the power to change it. If you want to be an architect, find a way to study architecture. If you are feeling lonely make plans to meet new people. One way is to create a MySpace profile on social media. The most important thing is that you are feeling happy about what you are doing in the present. Only then will your future be as bright as it can be.
