If You Don’t Believe in Yourself, Why Should Anyone Else?

self beliefYour self-esteem is vital for you to believe in yourself. When your self-esteem is low, your negative beliefs about yourself can carry over into every part of your life. And since life’s challenges often require the support of others who can help you, if you don’t believe in yourself, others won’t believe in you either.

Humans live in a society that expects its members to be united in a common goal or activity.

The most basic common goal that members of a society have is to be productive, useful, and contribute to society as a whole.

If you don’t believe in yourself and your contributions to society, why should anyone else believe in you?

Consider how your negative self-beliefs affect how others view you and how they react to your doubts about yourself.

Poor self-esteem can cause you to:

• Lose Your Lust for Life
• Blame Others and Make Excuses
• Be Pessimistic
• Doubt Your Ability to Reach Goals
• Stop Trying

When you don’t believe in yourself, other people won’t support you. They will see your negative self-esteem as a reason to find other companions who welcome their help.

Lose Your Lust for Life

When you don’t believe in yourself, your enjoyment and lust for life suffer. Positive people will find your negativity challenging to be around. Why would anyone else want to spend their time or support a person who has no interest in a good life? If you don’t believe in yourself and enjoy what each day brings, others won’t enjoy supporting you.

Blame Others and Make Excuses

When you don’t believe in yourself,…

…you usually don’t take responsibility for your failures.

Instead of meeting challenges head-on, people with low self-esteem often blame others for their shortcomings and lack of achievement.

Making excuses for why you don’t’ succeed doesn’t invite anyone else to support you when you aren’t willing to make changes and work to improve.

Be Pessimistic

Much like losing your lust for life, if you are pessimistic about yourself and everything around you, no one else will want to spend time with you or support or view.

To succeed, people need an optimistic mindset and a belief in their power to overcome challenges.

People support each other in their quests for achievement when they all believe they can succeed, not when they have a pessimistic outlook.

Those who want to succeed won’t spend their time adopting your lack of belief in yourself and your success.

Doubt Your Ability to Reach Goals

Even an optimistic person may sometimes question their ability to reach their goals. To have success, people work hard, learn new things, and carry out their plans to build their self-esteem. If you doubt your ability to reach your goals and aren’t willing to change to make your goals a reality, other people won’t support you. You have control over what you achieve. No one else can do it for you. When you doubt your ability to reach your goals and refuse to learn and grow, other people won’t believe in your ability either.

Stop Trying

When you stop trying, no one can help you. People respond to others who work toward their goals, even when they fail.

If other people know that you are committed to growth and change, they will be willing to help you overcome challenges.

If you don’t even try, why should anyone else believe you will change or succeed?

Instead of pushing people away, your success depends on your mindset and readiness to accept help and support.

Turn these negative self-esteem beliefs into a positive outlook by:

• Being Interested in Life and Others
• Taking Responsibility
• Being Optimistic
• Strive for Your Goals
• Keep Trying

If you are willing to embrace life and are considerate and concerned about other people, your positive outlook will attract others who want to succeed.

By accepting responsibility for your failures and your successes, others will see you as a person they can trust work support.

No one likes a pessimist, so being optimistic helps you grow your circle of influence and support.

When people work together, they help each other achieve society’s goals for purposeful activity. Everyone needs to be willing to work toward their goals.

And other people will respond positively to you, even when you fail if you are willing to learn, grow, and try again.
