Are You Really LIVING Life?
There’s no doubt that you’re physically living life, right?
You’re breathing on your own and you can feel your heart beating. But as you might have already figured out, there’s more to life than just staying alive physically. That includes your relationships with others and what you might be feeling in an emotional sense.
You need to take a look at your own life and figure out whether or not you’re truly living. Let’s go over some questions you might want to ask yourself to find you if you’re really LIVING life.
Are You Happy?
A lot of people seem to put the focus on how much money you make in a year, how large of a house you own, and how many children you have. Each of these is an accomplishment on its own, but they don’t necessarily equal happiness. That’s because happiness has to come from within. In order to actually “live” life, you need to be doing things that make you happy and surround yourself with people who bring you happiness.
Do You Feel Productive?
One of the tell-tale signs that you’re not truly living is if you’re just going through the motions of life. Do you wake up, go to work, come home, go to sleep, and repeat? Even if you’re bringing in $100,000 a year, you might not feel like a productive member of society. If that’s the case, then you’ll want to make changes in your life that help you feel like your life is more valuable. That might mean changing your career path, getting a hobby, or giving back to the community.
Do You Have Goals & Dreams?
There’s nothing wrong with being content with where you currently are in your life. The problem is when you’re so content with being stagnant that you’re actually holding yourself back from progress in any direction. It’s important that you always have your eyes set on at least one reasonable goal or dream. This will help to keep you motivated and give you something to look forward to in your life other than going to work and making money.
Are You Giving Back?
It’s only human nature to think about yourself before thinking about other people. Yet, you know that you’re living in a world with over 7 billion people that might be in worse situations than you. Giving back to the community and to those who need it might do wonders for your self-esteem and for your self-worth. You’ll also want to consider how much time, money, and energy you’re wasting doing nothing productive when you can be helping those in need.
Are You Focused on Positivity?
There’s no doubt that there are both positive and negative situations that’ll happen in your life. Yet, there’s a problem when a majority of your time and effort is focused on the negative things that happen. Not only are you putting yourself through an immense amount of stress and emotional turmoil, but you’re also depriving yourself of a well-deserved time where you can be happy. Be sure to focus on the positive aspects of your life and your accomplishments.
The last thing you want to do is look back at your life in regret and feel ashamed that you weren’t actually “living.”
So it’s important to look within and figure out if you’re living a life you’re proud of and if you’re genuinely happy with where you are.
Remember that it’s never too late to change where you’re going in life. If you’re not currently LIVING life, then any changes you make will help for the better!
